It is used to treat manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder, epilepsy, and migraine headaches.

Nausea, headache, weakness, drowsiness, tremor, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, loss of vision.

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug
