This medicine is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in people with type 2 diabetes.

It can cause Pancreatitis (such as persistent nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, and severe stomach/abdominal/back pain).

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug
