This medication is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach/abdominal pain, gas, or diarrhea may occur. Tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly if any of these effects persist or worsen.

It is contraindicated in patients with anuria, diabetic nephropathy, or any renal disease associated with acute or chronic renal insufficiency (CrCl less than 10 mL/minute), severe renal impairment, or renal failure.
