The primary indication of this drug is in the management of both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia. It is also used in patients of depression. Also used in burning mouth syndrome, GERD, IBS.

It can cause Acute muscular dystonia characterized by abnormal movements (twitching, tremor etc.) of hands, g, tongue and facial muscles.

Elderly patient, Children less than 14 years age, Parkinsons disease, Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, History of epilepsy.
